I can't hear any sound.
Check the Volume slider in Settings (the gear icon at the top right) and your phone's media volume and silent mode. The sound is generated live, so it plays only while the solid is moving. Flick the screen or switch on Autorun.
How do I make the solid move?
Flick the screen in any direction. It makes no difference where your finger lands, and a quicker flick sends the solid faster. Or switch on Autorun and set the Max speed, and it rolls by itself.
What do Interval and Session do?
Interval makes the speed rise and fall in slow waves. The low point is a quarter of the Max speed, and the peak is a little different each time, between 70% and 100% of it. Max speed is only the upper limit you set. Session starts a 10, 20 or 30 minute countdown at the top of the screen. When it reaches zero, Autorun switches off.
How do I wake the screen after Dim?
Double-tap anywhere on the screen. A single tap does nothing, so touching the phone in bed will not wake it by accident. Dim keeps the app running with the screen almost black and the display kept on.
Does it keep playing in the background or with the screen off?
Not yet. The sound plays while the app is open on the screen. If you want to fall asleep to it, use Dim mode: the screen goes almost black, but the app stays open and keeps playing.
Why does it sound best with headphones?
Oloid: ASMR uses binaural sound, which places the rolling solid to your left or right and nearer or farther away. This effect needs headphones. Through a speaker it is much weaker.
Are my choices saved? Do I need an account?
No account is needed. Your choices (shape, material, floor, size, Autorun settings and volume) are stored on your device only, so uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes them, and they do not transfer automatically to a new phone.
Why do I see an ad, and can I change its settings?
A single small banner ad keeps the app free. Where required, you can change or withdraw your ad consent in Settings under Privacy choices, and you can change tracking permissions in your device settings. See our Privacy Policy for details.
